This Sunday is our Annual General Meeting from 11:30am - 1:00pm where we will (hopefully) be adopting the Strategic Direction for the next five years along with our 2023 budget and appointments to the church leadership team.
As a Baptist church we are congregationally governed which means that the membership is involved in our decision-making. While only “official” members are able to vote, everyone who is committed to GBC as their community of faith is invited to participate; to hear where we believe God is leading us and find your place in that invitation.
As you may be aware, the Strategic Direction is the end result of a year-long process of discernment and, as such, marks out for us the direction we will be moving as a community of faith. There is both continuity and discontinuity with the past; things that we will be continuing and new things we will be starting. This is very exciting and it is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will unify our hearts around the things he has invited us to participate in.
Let me encourage you to do what you can to join us for our AGM – onsite or online. You can access the documents by CLICKING HERE.
For those of you who join onsite there will be a sausage sizzle for a quick lunch after our morning service and a simple kids program during the meeting.
I hope to see you there as we take the next steps in joining in God’s grand plan to restore and renew the world in Christ Jesus.
