From the Senior PastorMarc's Update One of our values as a community of faith is to be “Others-Focused”. We want to have a posture – an unconscious, unthinking, default tendency – of service of others. We want to put others first as an expression of what it means to follow Jesus; our servant king. With Easter just around the corner, there are two opportunities for us to demonstrate this value. The first is a working bee to be held on Saturday April 12. This is a chance to tidy up for the guests that we hope to have over the Easter period in particular, but others who use our facilities as well. There’s something about tidying up that reflects the value we have in those we are hosting. If you have a couple of hours on the 12th I’d love for you to join me in preparing the building for Easter (Click Here to Sign Up). The second is to be intentional, especially at Easter, about where we park. We have limited street parking to supplement our parking lot and it often fills up pretty quickly. In order to leave space for others – especially guests and visitors – I’d like to invite you, if you are able, to get here a little earlier on a Sunday morning in order to park a little further away. I am usually at church quite early to prepare and have made it my practice to park on The Boulevard. It adds a few minutes to my commute, but I’d like to think it leaves an extra spot for others. Parking as a spiritual exercise (and maybe a catchy motto – Park with Marc; or Parc with Marc). If you live on the other side of the Princes Highway you might consider parking there and using the overhead bridge. It’s only a few extra minutes but it could make the difference for a visitor who is looking for Jesus who then doesn’t have to also look for a parking spot! And who finds a neat, clean, and tidy church building and a people within who – in both those ways – are Others-Focused followers of Jesus! Marc Rader | Senior Pastor |

GBC FAMILY NEWSLives Changed by Jesus An Encouraging Elder Editorial from Greg Williams
"On you I rest my very being" Show me, Lord, the disciple’s path; Recall not the faults of my youth; Congregational Prayer Requests* Please pray for GBC folk in physical, mental and emotional pain. For those who are in hospital, undergoing surgery, medical tests, treatment. For those who are lonely, grieving the loss of a loved one. * Continue to pray for the Drury Family; Mark and Cathy, from our AM congregation, have a family member in hospital undergoing significant medical treatment due to a brain bleed. * Our community of faith. Firstly, that we might see lives changed for the first time as people place their faith in Jesus. And secondly, that we might see change in all our lives as we continue to follow Jesus. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16b.

Ministry SpotlightThis Week: Edge and Youth (Jeremy Brough, Y & YA Coordinator) Edge - Yr 5 & 6 (Wed 5:30-7pm) Term One we looked at Teaching through Stories and the Parables Jesus told. Activities have included high energy games of Capture the Flag, Water War and Nerftastic. GBC Youth - Yr 7-12 (Fri 7-9pm): We started the year with a fun and engaging Youth Camp which allowed Kids and Leaders to deepen friendships with each other and, most importantly, Jesus. Our group talks have looked at Life After Jesus: Growth of the New Testament Church and we enjoyed energetic games and activities. * Pray for strengthening of relationships for both kids and leaders and as they enjoy spending time together at Youth may they come to know the God who gave us the gift of relationship. * Pray for rest and safety (if travelling) over the upcoming school holidays. [Interested in joining the Edge or Youth Team? - Contact Marjy Robertson to start the conversation]. For more infomation visit:
